I also noticed they’ve got a system for how they organize stuff, but sometimes it feels like a suggestion rather than a rule. You’ll find a random pair of socks in the middle of the pants, or a kitchen gadget hiding in the towels. Part of the charm, I guess, or maybe just part of the chaos.
The Haul (or Lack Thereof)
After a decent amount of browsing, I actually found a couple of t-shirts that looked alright and the price was, well, Ross-like. Good enough. I also grabbed a new dog toy because, why not? My dog deserves a cheap thrill too.
Then it was time for the checkout. Picked a line, and it moved. Slowly, but it moved. The cashiers were working steady, just processing person after person. It’s a high-volume operation, no doubt about it.

Paid for my stuff, walked out. My trip to Ross in Federal Way was pretty much what I expected. You go in, you hunt, you might find something, you might not. It’s not always the most relaxing shopping experience, but if you’re in the mood for a bit of a rummage and the possibility of a bargain, it does the job. It’s a practical kind of place.
