Okay, so I wanted to share my little trip to the Mejuri store down in San Diego the other day. I’d been seeing their stuff online for ages, you know, those delicate gold chains and simple hoops everyone seems to have. My feed was full of them. Finally, I thought, right, I’m actually in San Diego for a bit, might as well check it out in person.

Finding the place wasn’t too hard. It’s in one of those trendy shopping areas, Westfield UTC I think it was. I just plugged it into my phone map and headed over. I wasn’t sure what to expect, sometimes these online brands have weird little shops, or they’re super intimidating.

Stepping Inside

When I got there, I was actually pretty impressed. The store itself looked really nice. Bright, clean, very minimalist. Not too big, but it didn’t feel cramped either. Lots of light wood and mirrors. It felt kinda calming, actually, not like some jewelry stores that feel stuffy or like you need an appointment just to breathe near the expensive stuff.

I started wandering around, looking at the displays. They had everything laid out in these glass cases, mostly organized by type – rings here, necklaces there, you get the idea. It was nice because you could just look without someone hovering over you immediately.

  • Lots of gold vermeil and 14k gold pieces.
  • Saw those popular croissant dome rings.
  • Some nice simple gemstone pieces too.

The stuff looked pretty much like it did online, which was good. Sometimes pictures can be deceiving, right? I spent a fair bit of time just looking, trying to decide if anything really jumped out at me that I hadn’t already seen a million times on Instagram.

Trying Things On

After a bit, one of the staff members came over. She was nice, not pushy at all. Just asked if I needed help finding anything or wanted to try something on. I pointed out a couple of necklaces I was curious about. She got them out for me, let me use a mirror, and just kinda stepped back to let me look. I appreciated that. No hard sell, just helpful.

I tried on a thin herringbone chain and one of their little pendant necklaces. They felt decent quality, especially for the price point. I debated for a while. Did I really need another gold necklace? Probably not. But seeing them in person, feeling the weight, it’s different than just clicking ‘add to cart’.

In the end, I actually decided not to buy anything that day. Shocker, I know! I just couldn’t quite make up my mind, and I try not to impulse buy jewelry too much. But the experience itself was really positive. It was nice to finally see the brand in a physical space, touch the items, and get a feel for it without any pressure.

So yeah, that was my little Mejuri San Diego adventure. Good vibes in the store, nice staff, and the jewelry looked solid. If you’re in the area and curious about their stuff, I’d say it’s definitely worth popping in for a look.
