Okay, so, today I want to talk about a singer named Beth Hirsch. To be honest, I hadn’t heard of her before, but when I looked her up, I realized she’s actually pretty well-known, especially for working with Air on that “Moon Safari” album. I think I’ve heard some of those tracks before, but I never knew who the singer was.
So, I started digging into her stuff. First, I went to Wikipedia. It turns out she was born in Tampa, Florida, back in 1967. I read that she moved to Paris in the early 90s to work as an au pair and got involved in the local art scene. I guess that’s where she started getting into music.
After that, I tried to find her social media. I didn’t find her on Facebook by searching for “Beth Hirst,” but I did find a bunch of people with that name, so I guess it’s a common name. I had better luck on LinkedIn, where I saw a bunch of professionals named Beth Hirst. It seems like there are at least 30 people with that name on there.
Then, I listened to her solo albums. The first one is called “Early Days”, which came out in 2000. The next one was “Titles & Idols” in 2001. I listened to them both on a music streaming app. Her voice is really unique, kind of ethereal. I can see why she ended up working with Air. I also found a podcast episode where she talked about introverts and extroverts in leadership. That was an interesting listen, too.
I also checked out her discography. She has four albums listed: “Early Days”, “Titles & Idols”, “Wholehearted”, and “Love Is For Everyone L.I.F.E 2.0”. It looks like she’s been making music for a while now. Her latest album was released in 2020.
Finally, I found out that she currently lives in Portugal. That’s a cool fact. It’s always interesting to see where artists end up living.

Here’s a summary of what I found out about Beth Hirsch today:
- She’s a singer-songwriter from Tampa, Florida.
- She’s best known for her collaboration with Air on the “Moon Safari” album.
- She moved to Paris in 1991 and got involved in the local art scene.
- She has released four solo albums: “Early Days” (2000), “Titles & Idols” (2001), “Wholehearted” (2007), and “Love Is For Everyone L.I.F.E 2.0” (2020).
- She currently lives in Portugal.
I think I’ll be listening to more of her music in the future. It’s always fun to discover new artists, even if they’ve been around for a while. I’m glad I took the time to look her up.
