laura mercier skincare routine steps easy morning and night get glowing skin

by Griffith Maggie

Okay so I finally caved and tried that Laura Mercier skincare everyone keeps whispering about at Sephora. Saw the glow claims and just thought, why not? My face felt blah, kinda tight and dull. Needed something, anything. Here’s exactly how it went down, messy bits included.

The Morning Sprint

Woke up late, as usual. Stumbled into the bathroom mirror. Yikes. Grabbed the Laura Mercier Cleanser first thing. It’s this weird gel-milk thing. Didn’t foam much, just kinda slid on. Felt clean after rinsing, not like my face was screaming in protest. Tightness? Nope. Okay, point one for Laura.

Next up, the Lotion Essence. Fancy name for basically watery stuff in a bottle. Splashed it onto my palms, patted it all over like they say. Absorbed fast. Skin felt a bit juicier? Maybe? Hard to tell when you’re still half-asleep. Just hoped it was doing something underneath.

Now the Crème Moisturizer. Creamy, but not thick and greasy. Sank right in. Didn’t feel sticky fighting with my sunscreen later. Big win. That sticky sunscreen battle is real.

The Nighttime Slowdown

Home after work, city grime and all. Double cleanse time? Nah, felt lazy. Just used the same cleanser. Again, got rid of the day’s grit. Face felt okay. Now for the fun bits.

The Purifying Oil bottle looked intimidating. Oils scare me. Breakout city, usually. But I poured a little bit into my palm anyway. Rub rub rub between hands, warmed it up a bit. Then just gently pressed it all over my face. Massaged for like, one minute tops. Didn’t wake up looking like a pizza the next day! Shocked. It felt kind of nice actually, not heavy. Skin soft.

After rinsing off the oil (didn’t use a washcloth, just warm water and hands), hit it with the same Lotion Essence as the morning. Pat pat pat.

Now the Night Crème. Different from the day one. Felt richer. Didn’t hold back, slapped on a decent amount. Definitely thicker. Went to bed feeling like I had stuff on my face, but not gross. Woke up, touched my cheek – super soft. Okay, okay Laura.

The Real Talk Results

Did this religiously for a week. Not perfect, skipped an essence step once.

  • Morning Feel: Skin felt legit smoother. Didn’t freak out while shaving. Makeup sat better, less patchy.
  • Night Feel: That oil is weirdly nice? Face felt clean but not stripped. Night cream makes morning cheeks touchable.
  • The Glow: Okay, I see it. Around day five. Less dull? Maybe? More like my skin actually looks awake. Not disco ball shiny, just… healthy? Friends asked if I slept well. That never happens.

It’s simple. Wash, water stuff, cream. That’s it. No waiting ages between steps. Oil cleanse is way easier than I thought. Did it magically fix everything? No. But my skin looks better than before. Feels comfy, doesn’t hate me. That glow? It’s subtle, but it’s there. Worth the coin? Yeah, probably buying it again. Too lazy to try something new now.
