Well, let me tell ya ’bout this thing, this Lacoste Lacoste Red. I ain’t no fancy perfume expert or nothin’, but I know what smells good and what don’t. And this here stuff, well, it smells alright, I guess.
First off, they say it’s for them “risk-takers.” Don’t know what that means exactly, maybe for folks who like to jump off cliffs or somethin’. But it smells kinda…fresh, you know? Like when you cut open a green apple, that kinda sharp, clean smell. They say there’s somethin’ called “Maclura Fruits” in it too. Never heard of them, sounds like somethin’ them city folks made up. But it’s there, mixin’ in with that apple smell.
Then, it gets a little…flowery, I guess. Not like them grandma flowers, more like…well, I don’t know how to say it, just kinda…flowery. Not too strong, though, which is good. I can’t stand them perfumes that make you choke. This one, it’s light. Like they didn’t put much in the bottle or somethin’. One fella said it right, “it has a very light” smell. Yep, he got that right.
- The Smell: Green apple, some kinda fancy fruit, and flowers. Light, not too strong.
- For Who?: They say risk-takers. I say, anybody who wants to smell decent, I guess.
Now, they been makin’ this stuff since 2004. That’s a long time ago, back when my chickens were still layin’ good eggs. They call it “Aromatic Fougere” fragrance. Again, with the fancy words! Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in a doctor’s office. But what it really means is, it smells kinda woodsy, you know? Like when you’re out choppin’ wood, but not as strong. It’s got this “woody” smell mixed in with them other smells.
There’s other stuff in it too, they say. Oranges, mangoes, tea, even pepper and ginger! Sounds like a whole fruit salad in a bottle. And somethin’ called cardamom, which I ain’t never heard of neither. Then, on the bottom, there’s somethin’ called acacia and benzoin. Don’t ask me what them are, probably more fancy stuff. But it all mixes together to make that light, fresh, kinda woodsy smell.
One fella was talkin’ about what kind of smells women like. He said somethin’ ’bout “amber-heavy scents” and “blue scents.” Lord have mercy, I don’t know nothin’ about that. He mentioned some fancy name, “Dior Sauvage,” never heard of it. Then he went on about dark smells, sweet smells, and smoky smells. Sounded like he was talkin’ ’bout a cookout, not perfume! But I guess what he was sayin’ is, women like different smells. So maybe some would like this Lacoste Red, maybe some wouldn’t. It’s all the same to me.
Now, when would you wear this stuff? Well, they say it’s for daytime. And I guess that makes sense. It ain’t no heavy, fancy night-time perfume. It’s somethin’ you’d wear when you’re goin’ to the store, or maybe to church, or just sittin’ on the porch. It’s just a…nice smell. Nothin’ fancy, nothin’ too strong. Just…nice.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a perfume that ain’t gonna knock nobody over, somethin’ that smells fresh and kinda woodsy, then this Lacoste Lacoste Red might be for you. It ain’t gonna make you jump off no cliffs, but it might make you smell a little bit better. And that’s all that matters, right?
Just don’t go expectin’ no miracles, you hear? It’s just perfume, not magic potion. But it’s a decent smell, and that’s good enough for me. And probably good enough for you too.
In short: It smells alright, not too strong, kinda fresh and woodsy. Good for daytime, I guess. You can wear it anywhere, anytime. Don’t expect too much, it’s just perfume. But it’s a good one, I reckon.
