My Jordan 3 Black Cement 2024 Experience

Right, so I finally managed to grab a pair of the Jordan 3 Black Cement 2024 last week. Been waiting for these for months.

First thing I did was unbox them straight away, super excited. The box felt the usual solid Nike Jordan Brand quality, nothing fancy but sturdy. Ripped it open, pulled them out, and honestly? My first reaction was… okay, maybe a little mixed.

The good stuff:

  • That iconic cement print on the heel and toe? Spot on. Looks exactly like the originals, really bold and gritty. Exactly why I love this colorway.
  • Leather panels felt decently soft, better than some recent Jordans I’ve copped. Not amazing, but not cardboard either.
  • The color blocking is perfect. Classic black, white, and that grey cement. Can’t mess that up.

But then, I started noticing things.

Stuff that bugged me:

  • The elephant print quality control? Man, it felt rushed. One shoe had slightly sharper cuts on the print than the other. Holding them side by side, you could see it wasn’t perfectly matched.
  • Check the midsole paint. Saw a couple tiny overspray marks near the heel on the right shoe. Not huge, but you pay premium price, you expect premium finish, right?
  • The inside of the left shoe near the collar had a little stray glue stain. Like someone got a bit sloppy putting them together.
  • Felt stiff as hell out of the box too. Needed a good few wears to start feeling comfortable.

So I wore them around the house for a day to break them in. Took them for a short errand run the next day. Can confirm the comfort got way better after that first proper walk. That cushioned Air unit in the heel does its job alright. No complaints there once they loosened up.

The Real Problem

Here’s the kicker, though. This whole release feels like it’s become a game of luck. You pay your money, you wait your turn, and you just hope you get a pair that wasn’t put together on a Friday afternoon. For every pair that looks perfect online, someone else ends up with dodgy stitching or messy glue. Makes you miss the days when getting Jordan’s was about lining up and knowing you were getting something solid.

Are they fire? Absolutely. The look is legendary. But feeling like you gotta inspect every millimeter like you’re a sneaker detective kinda ruins the fun. Just my two cents.
