- Logo Stamp: Looked where the logo is stamped inside. Real stamping is clean and crisp, letters are sharp. Saw one online pic where the stamp was so weak it looked gray, not black.
The Edges Test
Looked super close at the bag’s edges. Like, where the leather is cut. On the real one? They’re smooth, painted evenly. Some cheap bags leave rough edges – makes you think a mouse chewed it.
Putting it Together & The Fakeout
Felt way better after feeling, sniffing, and staring. But wanted to test myself. Went online, found a site selling the same bag crazy cheap. Knew it was trouble.
- Picture showed stitching curving like a snake.
- The hardware looked like plastic gold in the photo.
- Seller had zero actual close-up pics of the material or logo stamp.
- Description just said “genuine materials” – ha! Classic fake.
Closed that tab. Not getting ripped off again.
Got Smart Fast
Biggest lesson? Real leather feels heavy and smells real. Stitching should stab your finger if you run it along (it’s that tight and precise). Hardware shouldn’t feel like toy metal. And that cheap price? Total red flag waving right in your face.
Feels good spotting the real deal now. Saved my wallet too. Definitely checking my own closet first next time before clicking buy!
