Alright, so today I’m gonna walk you through how I tried to contour my nose. It’s not perfect, and honestly, sometimes it looks kinda crazy, but hey, that’s what practice is for, right?

First thing’s first, I grabbed my stuff. I’m using a contour stick that’s a couple of shades darker than my skin, a small angled brush, and a blending sponge. Oh, and a mirror, duh! I always start by making sure my face is clean and moisturized. Gotta have a good base, you know?
Okay, so I take the contour stick and draw two thin lines down the sides of my nose. I try to keep them as straight as possible, but honestly, my hand isn’t always that steady. The key is to start near the inner corner of your eyebrows and go all the way down to the tip of your nose. Don’t make the lines too thick, you can always add more later. Less is more, especially when you’re a beginner like me!
Next, I put a little bit of contour right under the tip of my nose. This helps to create the illusion of a more defined tip. Just a tiny dab will do! Then, sometimes I’ll add a touch of contour to the bridge of my nose, right where it meets my forehead. I don’t always do this, but when I want a super sculpted look, it helps to create a bit more shadow there.
Now comes the scary part: blending! I take my angled brush and gently start blending the contour lines inwards. I use small, circular motions and try to really buff the product into my skin. The goal is to make the lines disappear and create a seamless shadow. This is where the blending sponge comes in handy. I use it to stipple over the blended areas and really smooth everything out.
Blending is seriously key. If you don’t blend enough, you’ll end up with harsh lines that just look…bad. Trust me, I’ve been there. So take your time and really work that product into your skin. If you accidentally blend too much, don’t worry! Just add a little more contour and blend again.

After blending, I usually add a touch of highlighter to the bridge of my nose. This helps to brighten the area and further define the contour. I use a small brush and apply the highlighter in a thin line down the center of my nose. Again, less is more! You don’t want to look like a disco ball.
Finally, I take a step back and look at my nose in the mirror. I check for any harsh lines or unevenness and make sure everything looks blended and natural. If needed, I’ll go back in with my blending sponge and do a little more touch-up work.
And that’s pretty much it! Sometimes it looks great, sometimes it looks…meh. But the more I practice, the better I’m getting. The biggest thing I’ve learned is that everyone’s nose is different, so what works for one person might not work for another. Experiment, have fun, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. That’s how you learn!
Here are a few tips that I’ve picked up along the way:
- Use a light hand! It’s always easier to add more contour than to take it away.
- Blend, blend, blend! I can’t stress this enough.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment with different products and techniques.
- Practice makes perfect! The more you contour, the better you’ll get.
So yeah, that’s my contouring journey so far. I’m still learning, but I’m having fun and that’s what matters, right?
