Okay, so, you guys know I’ve been all about those jelly shoes lately, right? Super cute, super comfy, but man, do they get dirty fast! I wore mine out to a music festival last weekend, and let’s just say they were looking pretty rough by the end of it. Mud, dirt, some mystery stains – you name it. I was determined to get them back to their former glory, so I embarked on a jelly shoe cleaning mission.

First things first, I gathered my supplies. I filled up a bowl with some warm water and added a good squirt of mild dish soap. Nothing fancy, just the regular stuff I use for my dishes. I figured if it’s gentle enough for my plates, it’s probably good for my shoes, too.
Next, I grabbed a soft-bristled toothbrush that I use just for cleaning, and an old washcloth. I dipped the toothbrush into the soapy water and started gently scrubbing away at the dirt. I paid extra attention to the grooves and crevices, where all the gunk likes to hide. The washcloth came in handy for wiping down the larger surfaces.
I worked on one shoe at a time, taking my time to make sure I didn’t miss any spots. It was actually kind of satisfying to see all that grime coming off. For some of the tougher stains, I let the soapy water sit for a few minutes before scrubbing again. That seemed to do the trick.
- Fill a bowl with warm water.
- Add a small amount of mild soap.
- Dip a clean cloth or a soft brush into the soapy water.
- Gently scrub the surface of the shoes.
Rinse and Dry
Once I was happy with how clean they were, I rinsed both shoes thoroughly under some cool, running water. I made sure to get rid of all the soap residue, because I didn’t want any weird streaks or anything. After rinsing, I gave them a good shake to get rid of the excess water and then used a clean, dry towel to pat them dry.
I let them air dry for a few hours, and voila! They were looking good as new. I was pretty impressed with myself, not gonna lie. So, there you have it – my tried and true method for cleaning jelly shoes. It’s simple, it’s effective, and it doesn’t require any special cleaners or tools. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!
