Okay, so let me tell you about getting my hands on the Dior Jolie bag. It wasn’t exactly planned, more like one of those things that just happens, you know?

How It Started
I’d been seeing this bag pop up here and there. Not aggressively, just subtly. Saw someone carrying it, maybe caught a glimpse online somewhere while browsing other stuff. It kinda stuck in my head. I wasn’t really looking for a new bag, but the look of the Jolie… it’s got that classic Cannage stitching but felt a bit more modern, less formal than the Lady Dior maybe? Anyway, it piqued my interest.
So, I started doing a bit more digging. Not like intense research, just casual looking. Checking out the different sizes, the colours they had. I really liked the adjustable chain strap idea, seemed practical. You could wear it crossbody or shorten it for the shoulder. Versatility is always a plus in my book.
Going To See It
Pictures are one thing, but you gotta see these things in person, right? Especially with luxury items. You need to feel the leather, see how it sits, check the weight. So, I made a trip to the Dior boutique. Wasn’t planning to buy necessarily, just wanted a closer look.
Walking in, I asked the sales assistant if I could see the Jolie bag. They were super nice, brought out a couple of options. I think they had black, that latte colour, and maybe a seasonal one. I immediately went for the black one to try first.
Feeling the bag was important. The leather felt really smooth,しっかり (shikkari) – like, solid but soft? The Cannage pattern is just iconic, looks so neat. I tried opening and closing the ‘CD’ clasp. It felt secure, had a nice little click to it. Then I put my phone, a small wallet, and keys inside just to gauge the space. It fit the essentials, which is what I wanted. Not too big, not tiny.

Trying It On and Deciding
Next step was trying it on. I adjusted the chain, first long for crossbody. It sat pretty comfortably against my hip. Then I shortened it for shoulder wear. Liked that too. It felt quite light, actually, which was a pleasant surprise. Some chain bags can weigh a ton.
- Checked the mirror from different angles.
- Walked around the little space they give you.
- Compared the black with the latte colour again.
The black felt timeless, super versatile. The latte was beautiful too, very chic, but I knew the black would just go with everything I own. Decision made, almost unconsciously. It just felt right.
I chatted a bit more with the SA, asked about care instructions, the usual stuff. Didn’t feel rushed or pressured, which I always appreciate.
Taking It Home
So, yeah. I ended up getting it. They packaged it all up beautifully in the white box with the ribbon. Walking out with that big white Dior bag felt kinda special, not gonna lie.
Got it home, unboxed it again (because why not?), and just admired it for a bit. The next day, I used it for the first time. Just threw in my stuff and went out for coffee. It felt good. Easy to use, looked great with just jeans and a simple top. It’s functional, but also makes you feel a bit put-together.

That’s pretty much the story of how the Dior Jolie ended up in my collection. A bit spontaneous, but driven by seeing it, liking the design, and confirming the quality and feel in person. So far, so good!
