Okay, so I’ve always been a bit of a fashion dummy. I see these gorgeous red-soled shoes everywhere, but I never knew how to say the name properly. It looked French, and my French is, well, non-existent. So, I finally decided to figure out “how do you say Louboutin?” once and for all.

My Little Pronunciation Journey
First, I tried saying it how it looked. “Loo-bow-tin?” Nope, sounded totally wrong. My friends just laughed. I felt a little silly. I decided some proper research was needed.
- I jumped onto Google. Seemed like the obvious first step, right?
- I typed in “how to pronounce Louboutin.”
- So many videos! I clicked on the first few.
The videos were helpful. Most of them had native French speakers saying the name slowly. I listened carefully, trying to mimic the sounds. It’s definitely not “Loo-bow-tin.”
It turned out, the correct pronunciation is more like “Loo-boo-tan.” The “tan” is a bit nasal, like many French words. After practicing, now I can say it better. I can walk into the store and say the name!
I even impressed a shop assistant with my newfound pronunciation skills! It was a small victory, but it felt good to finally get it right. No more awkward mumbling when I talk about those beautiful shoes!
