Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with Hermes bags forever, and keeping track of their colors is like a whole other hobby. This year, 2023, I decided to get REALLY organized about it. I wanted my own, personal Hermes color chart, not just random pics from the internet.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed a notebook – a pretty one, of course, because, Hermes. Then I started digging. I spent hours on forums and blogs, just trying to get a handle on what colors were even available in 2023.
The Deep Dive
- I made a list of all the classic colors, you know, like Gold, Black, Etoupe. Those are always around.
- Then I focused on finding out the seasonal colors. This was the tricky part! Some colors are super limited, only available in certain leathers or for certain bags.
- I created the excel and started classfying with different colors.
- I printed out tiny pictures I found (the best I could, anyway) and pasted them next to the color names in my notebook. It’s not perfect, but it gives me a good visual.
My System (Such As It Is…)
I organized the notebook by color family – so all the blues together, all the pinks, etc. I also made little notes about which leathers the colors were available in. For example, some colors look totally different in Togo leather versus Epsom leather.
It’s a Work in Progress!
Honestly, it’s still a work in progress. I’m always adding new swatches and information as I find it. And sometimes I have to correct things, because, well, it’s the internet, and not everything is accurate.
The biggest challenge is that some new color I want is not easy to find. But I will keep digging!
The Final Result (For Now…)
But hey, it’s MY chart. And it’s been super helpful for planning my (dream) future purchases. Plus, it’s just fun to look at. It’s like a little rainbow of Hermes goodness.
