Gucci Pug How To Find The Coolest Outfits For Your Pup

by Afra Jennings

So today I wanted to figure out this whole Gucci Pug outfit thing for my little sausage dog, Baxter. Honestly, I saw those fancy social media posts and thought, “How hard could it be?” Turns out, kinda tricky! But I’m stubborn.

The Starting Point

First off, I opened up Bing. Typed in “cool Gucci pug clothes.” Got pictures of fancy pups living better than me, but zero actual shopping tips. All I found were sponsored ads for sites I didn’t trust. Big waste of ten minutes. Closed the laptop, grabbed Baxter, and stared at him. “Right, buddy,” I said, “We’re doing this ourselves.” His tail wagged. Probably thought he was getting a treat.

The Thrift Store Idea

Drove to the thrift store downtown. Found a used Gucci scarf – tiny little thing with the logo pattern. Paid cash, no worries. Felt pretty smart. Got home, grabbed scissors and some Velcro I had lying around. Laid the scarf out, measured Baxter’s squiggly back. Then tried wrapping it. Looked like a sad napkin tied to a potato. Baxter just sat there confused. Velcro didn’t stick great to the fancy fabric either.

Tinkering Time

Alright, Plan B. Dug into my sewing box. Found:

  • An old baby sock (clean!)
  • Some leftover denim from jeans I chopped into shorts
  • Safety pins (not ideal, I know)

Cut the toe off the sock to make a little sleeve for his front leg. Sewed a square of the scarf right onto it. Used the denim to make a tiny back piece that kinda looked like a vest? Sorta. Pinned it roughly under his belly. Put it all on him. He looked… ridiculous. Like a toddler tried decorating him. But hey, the Gucci pattern was visible! Took photos. He mostly just tried walking backwards.

Making It Work (Sorta)

Realized it needed to be simpler. And actually wearable without pins. Took off the “vest.” Just focused on the sock sleeve with the scarf square sewn firmly on top. Added another tiny denim strip on the bottom edge so it didn’t roll up. Important! Made sure it was loose enough not to bug him. Tested it again. Baxter sniffed it a lot but didn’t try ripping it off. Small victory. Called it his “Gucci Bling Band.” Sounds fancier than “cut-up sock.”

The End Result & Lesson

Was it professional? Nope. Was it Gucci-bought? Heck no. But it cost me:

  • Scarf: three bucks
  • Old sock & denim scraps: free
  • My time: Priceless stress and laughs

He wore it around the yard. Looked proud. Maybe just the extra attention. Main takeaway? Forget finding “Gucci for pugs” cheaply or easily. Dig into your own junk drawer, get creative, be prepared for wonky results, and laugh at the photos. It’s way more fun. Baxter now has a unique (and slightly crooked) accessory. Success? In our messy way, yes.
