Okay, so I’ve always wanted to get my ears pierced, and finally, I took the plunge and got not one, but two piercings on each ear! It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, really. I was walking past this piercing studio, and something just said, “Go for it!”

First off, I walked in and talked to the piercer. He was this cool guy, really calm and professional. I told him I wanted a double ear piercing, and he explained everything I needed to know. He showed me the different jewelry options, and I ended up choosing simple surgical stainless steel studs. They looked clean and classic, plus he said they’re great for sensitive skin, which I have.
Next, he cleaned my earlobes with some kind of antiseptic solution. It felt a bit cold, but nothing too bad. Then, he marked the spots where the piercings would go with a surgical marker. He made sure I was happy with the placement before moving on to the next step. I looked at the dots in a mirror a couple of times and asked him to adjust them ever so slightly, making sure they were just how I wanted them.
Now, for the actual piercing part, he used a hollow needle for each one. This studio was very by-the-book. He explained that using needles is better than guns for piercing. I braced myself, but honestly, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. There was a quick pinch and a bit of pressure, and then it was over. He did one ear first, then the other, repeating the process on each side.
- First piercing: quick pinch, some pressure.
- Second piercing: same deal.
After each piercing, he immediately inserted the studs. He then cleaned the area again and gave me some aftercare instructions. He emphasized that I shouldn’t touch or twist the earrings and that I should clean them with a saline solution two to three times a day. He also warned me about sleeping. Because I got both ears done, I’m trying to be super careful and sleep on my back or side with a clean pillowcase. I even bought a donut pillow to keep pressure off my ears.
Aftercare
I’ve been diligently following the aftercare instructions. It’s been a few days now, and they’re healing up nicely. There’s a little bit of soreness, but nothing major. I’m just really excited to be able to wear different earrings eventually, once they’re fully healed. I am already imagining all the cool combinations I can try. This whole experience has been pretty awesome, and I’m so glad I finally did it!
