Okay, so I’ve been wanting to try out some new nail colors lately, and I finally took the plunge and went for this wine-colored look. I’ve seen it all over my feed, and honestly, I was kinda hesitant at first. But let me tell you, I’m so glad I did it!
First off, I prepped my nails. You know the drill – pushed back my cuticles, filed them into a nice almond shape, and buffed the surface a bit. Gotta get that smooth base, right?

Then, I applied a base coat. This is super important, especially with darker colors like this, to prevent staining. Nobody wants that, trust me. Once that was dry, I started with the wine polish. It was a deep, rich burgundy shade. I got it from this local store that was having a crazy sale. Up to 90% off on some items, can you believe it?
I did two coats to get that full, opaque look, letting each coat dry completely before applying the next. Patience is key, people! But it was totally worth it. The color was just so luxurious and elegant. I felt like a whole new person, haha.
And to top it all off, I went with a glossy top coat. You can see it on the result. This added that extra shine and also helped to protect the polish. I saw some people adding hearts and stuff, but I wanted to keep it simple this time. Maybe I’ll try some nail art next time, what do you think?
The Result
I’m seriously obsessed with how these turned out. It’s such a classic and sophisticated color. It goes with pretty much everything in my closet. I think it really makes my hands look more elongated, too. I’ve gotten so many compliments already! I’m definitely going to be rocking this wine color more often. If you’re thinking about trying it, just do it! You won’t regret it.
