Okay, so a while back, I got really into perfumes, and I stumbled upon this one called Guerlain Patchouli Paris. The name itself got me, you know? Patchouli and Paris, two things I absolutely love. The idea of smelling like a Parisian night? Sign me up!
I did some digging online, trying to find out more about it. Apparently, it’s part of Guerlain’s L’Art et La Matiere collection. Sounds fancy, right? I saw that a perfumer named Delphine Jelk created it, and she wanted to capture the feeling of the Seine River at night. I read that she describes it as “blushing and pulsating”. Very interesting.
So, I decided I had to try this. I searched and found the best price I could get on it. Some places were selling it for like, nearly 600 bucks! For a bottle of perfume! Anyway, I eventually found a better deal on eBay, of all places. It was still expensive, but not that expensive. I saw that there’s free shipping. That’s cool.
When the package finally arrived, I tore into it like a kid on Christmas morning. The bottle itself was pretty simple, but elegant. I spritzed some on my wrist and took a whiff. Man, it was strong! Definitely patchouli, but there was something else there, too. It smelled kind of woody and, dare I say, a little bit sexy. I wore it around the house for the day. I caught whiffs of it throughout the day and it made me feel pretty good. You know that feeling when you put on something special and you just feel more confident?
Then, I wore it out to a get-together with friends. I did get a few compliments. Someone said I smelled “mysterious,” which I thought was cool. Another person asked if I was wearing something new, and when I told them it was Guerlain Patchouli Paris, they had never heard of it but said they were going to look it up.
I have worn it a few more times since then, mostly for special occasions, like a fancy dinner or a night out. I feel like it’s not really an everyday scent, at least not for me. But, when I do wear it, it makes me feel a little bit more sophisticated, a little bit more…Parisian.
