Okay, let’s get to it. Here’s my experience messing around with the “Jordan 3 Pink” idea:

So, I’ve been seeing pink sneakers everywhere. And, you know, the Jordan 3 is a classic. I figured, why not combine the two? I wanted to see what a pink Jordan 3 would actually look like.

The Hunt

First, I scoured the internet for any existing official pink Jordan 3s. I dug through sneaker blogs, forums, and even some obscure resale sites. Nothing. Lots of custom jobs, but no official releases in the exact shade I was picturing.

The Photoshop Experiment

Since I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I’m no Photoshop wizard, but I know the basics. I grabbed a good, clean image of a white-based Jordan 3 (the Cement, I think it was). Then I started playing around.

  • I isolated the different parts of the shoe – the midsole, the upper, the elephant print, the accents.
  • Then, I carefully started applying different shades of pink. It was a lot of trial and error. Some pinks looked way too bubblegum, others were too washed out.
  • The elephant print was tricky. I didn’t want to lose the texture, but I also wanted it to have a pinkish hue. I ended up using a very subtle overlay.

The Results

After a good few hours of tinkering, I had something I was pretty happy with. It wasn’t perfect, but it gave me a really good idea of what a “Rust Pink” or a “Pale Pink” Jordan 3 could look like. I opted to keep some grey accents in the experiment, it just balanced better with the pink tone I choose.

The light pink colorway gives the Jordan 3 model a totally different look than usual. And made me love this design more.

It was a fun little project. Who knows, maybe one day Jordan Brand will actually release something similar! Or maybe this will inspire me to try a real-life custom paint job sometime.
