My Whole Claudie Pierlot Jacket Sizing Disaster
Okay so I really wanted this Claudie Pierlot leather jacket. Saw it online and thought “damn that’s cute” but sizing? Total mystery. Their charts looked like algebra homework to me.

First I grabbed my measuring tape like everyone says to do. Measured my bust, pulled it tight, then loose, then medium – got three different numbers obviously. Googled “how to measure for jacket” and watched five videos showing different ways. Almost threw the tape out the window.
Decided to gamble. Ordered both size 36 and 38 since online said free returns. Package arrived smelling like fancy leather heaven. Tried the 38 first – swam in it like wearing my dad’s old work coat. Like big in shoulders, loose in waist, arms too long. Total potato sack situation.
Switched to 36. Better but damn buttons strained over my chest when I moved. Couldn’t cross arms without feeling like Hulk. Shoulders fit good though. Stood in front mirror for twenty minutes doing awkward poses. Squatted, pretended to ride motorcycle, lifted arms like airplane – all while jacket dug into my armpits.
Checked return policy again. Saw “final sale” in tiny letters underneath. Panicked called customer service. Got machine voice menu hell. Took fifteen minutes to reach human who told me it WAS returnable. Nearly cried.
Ended up keeping 36 because shoulders matter most. Learned these lessons the hard way:

- Shoulders tell truth – too wide looks sloppy
- Move around like maniac during try-on
- Zipped jackets show tight spots better
- Assume returns might not work
Now my jacket hangs on chair like trophy. Looks amazing when I stand straight. But when I breathe deep? That fourth button judges me. Next time I’m driving two hours to try it in-store. Screw measurements.
