Corvette Rankings: See Where Your Dream Car Stands!

by Cornell Yule

Okay, so I got this idea to make a ranking of Corvettes. I’m a huge fan, always have been, and I figured, why not put my obsession to good use? So, I started with this whole plan to make it super detailed, you know, like a real definitive ranking. I got all excited and that is the begining.

First thing I did, I grabbed a pen and a big sheet of paper. Yeah, old school, I know, but it helps me think. I started listing out all the Corvette generations I could remember, from the C1 all the way to the current C8. Just writing them down got me pumped, seeing the whole history laid out like that.

Getting Down to Business.

I made Some Basic Rules.

  • First rule I set for ranking: No special editions.
  • Second rule I set for ranking: Consider models from the same year.

Next, I started jotting down what I loved and hated about each generation. Like, the C2? Iconic Sting Ray, gorgeous lines, but those drum brakes… yikes! The C3, pure muscle car vibes, but some of those later years got a bit… underpowered. I scribbled down notes about the engines, the styling, how they drove (based on what I’ve read and seen, of course, I haven’t driven them all!).

Ranking.

  • C2 (1963-1967).
  • C1 (1953-1962).
  • C8 (2020-present).
  • C7 (2014-2019).
  • C3 (1968-1982).
  • C6 (2005-2013).
  • C5 (1997-2004).
  • C4 (1984-1996).

Then came the hard part – actually ranking them. I started moving things around, comparing notes, arguing with myself. It was a mess! I had arrows going everywhere, crossing things out, rewriting stuff. It took me a good few hours, and probably a couple of cups of coffee, but I finally had a rough order.

Of course, this is just my personal ranking. Every Corvette fan has their own opinions, and that’s what makes it fun! It’s all about what you love, what speaks to you. And for me, this list, as messy as it is, represents that.
