Okay, so today I’m gonna walk you through how I tackled a little side project: grabbing a bunch of 1969 Mustang images. Sounds simple, right? Well, it was… eventually.
First off, I just started googling. Obvious, I know. But I wanted a feel for what’s already out there. Typed in “1969 Mustang images,” hit enter. Got a whole load of stuff. But I wasn’t just looking for any old pic; I wanted variety, different angles, colors, the whole nine yards.
Next up: refining my search. I started adding keywords like “1969 Mustang Mach 1,” “1969 Mustang Fastback,” “1969 Mustang convertible.” That helped narrow things down a bit. Also, I started using Google’s image search tools – you know, the ones where you can filter by size, color, usage rights, etc. Really dug into the “size” filter ’cause I wanted some high-res stuff.
Then, I branched out beyond Google. Hit up some car enthusiast forums. Man, those guys are hardcore! Found some really detailed photos there, plus a bunch of info about different restoration projects. That was cool, even though it wasn’t directly image-related. A couple of forums I checked out were dedicated specifically to classic Mustangs. These forums were gold mines. People upload their own resto pics, and you see some seriously stunning examples of ’69 Mustangs.
- Google Images (duh!)
- Classic car forums
- Pinterest (for the aesthetics)
After that, I started saving the images that caught my eye. Created a dedicated folder on my computer just for this project. Organized them into subfolders based on model type (Mach 1, Fastback, etc.). Yeah, I got a little obsessive. What of it?
A little side note: I made sure to double-check the image quality before saving. No point in grabbing a thumbnail-sized pic if I was planning on using it for anything serious. Always aim for the highest resolution you can find.
Finally, once I had a good collection, I spent some time going through them, weeding out the duplicates, and further organizing them. And that’s pretty much it. Simple, but effective.
