Okay, so, today I wanna talk about this thing I tried out – it’s called “Coach Keith Haring”. Now, I’m no art expert or anything, but I’ve always been kinda drawn to those bold, colorful figures that Haring’s known for. I mean, who hasn’t seen that radiant baby, right? So, I thought, why not give it a shot myself?
First off, I did a little digging into who Keith Haring actually was. Turns out, he was this cool artist dude from the 80s, hanging out in the New York art scene. Not only did he make those eye-catching pieces, but he also used his art to talk about important stuff, like social and political issues. That’s pretty rad if you ask me.
Getting Started
I gathered my materials, which, let me tell you, was nothing fancy. Just some basic paint, brushes, and a big piece of paper. I didn’t have a fancy canvas or anything. It’s very simple for a man without money.
- Paint: I used some colors I already had at home.
- Brushes: Nothing special, just a few different sizes.
- Paper: A big sheet from a roll I found in my storage.
The Process
I started by sketching out some basic shapes, trying to mimic Haring’s style. Those thick lines and simple figures? Easier said than done. I messed up a bunch of times, erased a lot, and started over more than I’d like to admit. But hey, that’s part of the process, right?
After a while, I started to get the hang of it. I filled in the shapes with those bright, bold colors. I tried to imagine what Haring would do, how he’d make those figures pop. It was kinda therapeutic, just focusing on the colors and shapes. No need to think too much, just do it. It’s like exercise.
The Result
Now, I’m not gonna lie, my finished piece is no masterpiece. It’s a bit messy, the lines aren’t perfect, and it’s definitely not something I’d hang in a gallery. But you know what? I had fun doing it. And I learned a bit more about Keith Haring and his art, which is pretty cool. I think it’s a big step for me.
I feel like more people should try this kinda stuff. It’s not about being the best artist or anything. It’s about trying something new, expressing yourself, and maybe learning a thing or two along the way. And if you’re into Haring’s work, it’s a fun way to connect with it on a different level.
So yeah, that’s my “Coach Keith Haring” experience. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely worth it. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, who knows? Maybe next time I can do better than this time.
