Okay, so I’ve had this Casioak (GA-2100) for a while now, and I really dig the all-black look. But, you know, life happens. It started to pick up some, uh, “character.” Basically, dust, grime, and maybe a little bit of who-knows-what from everyday wear. It was definitely losing its sleekness. So, I decided it was time for a little cleaning project. I’m no watch expert, just a regular dude who likes his watch to look decent.

Gathering My Supplies (Nothing Fancy!)
First, I needed to get my cleaning stuff together. I didn’t want to use anything harsh that might damage the watch. Here’s what I rounded up:
- Warm Water: Just plain tap water, nothing special.
- Mild Dish Soap: The same stuff I use for dishes, figured it would be gentle enough.
- Soft-Bristled Toothbrush: An old one that I wasn’t using anymore. Important that it’s soft!
- Microfiber Cloths: I use these for cleaning my glasses, so I knew they were soft and wouldn’t scratch.
- Q-tips: To get in the small area.
The Cleaning Process (Step-by-Step)
Alright, time to get down to business. Here’s how I tackled the cleaning:
- Pre-Rinse: First, I ran the watch under some warm water, just to get any loose dirt or dust off. I made sure the crown was pushed in all the way, of course! I didn’t want to get water inside.
- Soapy Water Mix: I put a tiny drop of dish soap in a bowl of warm water and mixed it up. Didn’t need a lot of soap, just enough to make it a little sudsy.
- Gentle Scrubbing: I dipped the soft-bristled toothbrush into the soapy water and gently scrubbed the watch case and band. I made sure to get into all the little nooks and crannies, especially around the bezel and where the band connects to the case.
- Q-tip:Clean the small area with Q-tip.
- Rinse Again: Once I was satisfied with the scrubbing, I rinsed the watch thoroughly under warm water again, making sure to get rid of all the soap residue.
- Drying Time: I patted the watch dry with a microfiber cloth, then I used another dry microfiber cloth to really buff it and get any remaining water spots off.
The Results (Looking Good!)
And that’s it! Honestly, it was pretty easy and didn’t take long at all. The Casioak looked way better afterward. The black was back to being, well, black, and not that dull, dusty black. It’s not perfectly brand new, of course, but it’s a huge improvement. I’m definitely going to try to keep up with cleaning it more regularly now, so it doesn’t get so grimy in the first place. It’s such a cool watch, it deserves to look its best!
