Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little adventure with the “Casa Kimball Dominican Republic” thing. I’m no expert, just a guy who likes to tinker and document what happens.
So, I stumbled upon this Casa Kimball place online. Pictures looked amazing, you know? All sleek and modern, right on the ocean. I got curious about how it was all put together, the design and everything.
First thing I did was just look. Lots and lots of looking. I went through every picture I could find, trying to get a feel for the place. How the rooms connected, where the windows were, that sort of stuff.
Next, I tried to find some floor plans. This was tougher. Didn’t find any official ones, but I did find some sketches and diagrams other people had made. Not perfect, but it gave me a better idea of the layout.
- Spent hours on image searches, just gathering visual info.
- Scoured forums and design blogs for any clues about the layout.
- Even tried to sketch out my own floor plan based on the pictures.
Then, I started thinking about the materials. It’s clearly a lot of concrete, glass, and wood. I started researching Dominican Republic construction techniques, what materials are common there, and how they deal with the weather (it’s gotta be hot and humid, right?).
Breaking it Down
I basically broke the whole thing down into smaller chunks:
The Structure: I am guessing its reinforced concrete, because it looks really solid and that seems to be common in modern buildings. And big question is how they get it water resistance?
The Windows: I figure out those are huge, floor-to-ceiling things. Must be some special kind of glass to withstand the sun and potential storms.
The Interior: From the pictures,I see lots of open space, minimal furniture. Seems like a focus on natural light and airflow.
So, yeah, that’s my Casa Kimball deep dive. I didn’t build the thing myself, obviously, but it was fun to try and figure out how it all worked. Still a lot of mysteries, but that’s part of the fun, right?
