Okay, so I’ve been eyeing the Cartier Tank Française for a while now. I mean, it’s a classic, right? But the price tag… oof. It’s a serious investment. So, before I took the plunge, I did a ton of research. I probably spent weeks, maybe even months, just digging around.

First, I started by watching a bunch of YouTube videos. You know, those “unboxing” videos and reviews? I watched so many of those, I started dreaming about tiny screwdrivers and perfectly polished links. It was actually super helpful to see the watch from different angles and hear what people really thought about it.
Then, I hit the forums. Oh man, the forums. People are PASSIONATE about their watches. I learned about the different movements, the different sizes, the steel versus the gold… It was overwhelming at first, but I slowly started to get a handle on the details.
I read some articles about the history of Cartier and found it’s very intersting.
- I compared it to other watches, like maybe a nice watch. And then some other less expensive brands, just to see if there was anything else out there that I liked as much.
- I looked at tons of pictures. Like, seriously, hundreds of pictures. Wrist shots, close-ups, everything. I wanted to make sure it looked as good in real life as it did in the photos.
- I even tried to find some used ones, just to see if I could save a little money. But honestly, I was a little nervous about buying a used luxury watch. What if it was fake? What if it needed repairs?
After all that, I finally decided to go for it. I went to the Cartier boutique, tried on a few different sizes, and… boom. I knew it was the one. The medium size, steel, classic dial. It just felt right.
The sales associate was super helpful, too. She showed me how to set the time, how to care for the watch, all that good stuff. And then, the moment of truth… I swiped my card. A little scary, ngl, but also exciting!

I walked out of that store feeling like a million bucks. Seriously, this watch… it just makes me feel good. It’s elegant, it’s timeless, and it’s something I know I’ll cherish for years to come. It was a long process, lots of looking and thinking, but totally worth it. Now I am a happy owner of a Cartire Tank Francaise Watch!
