Blake Lively Hairstyles Which Are Best Learn Her Top 5 Looks for Inspiration

Alright guys, so yesterday I decided to play hair stylist and recreate Blake Lively’s top 5 looks from that viral video. Grabbed my sister as a guinea pig because her hair length matches Blake’s. Our setup? A wobbly dining chair, dollar store clips, and drugstore hair spray – just keeping it real.

Look 1: Messy Beach Waves

Started by spraying sea salt mist on damp hair, then twisted random sections away from her face. Used my old curling iron on medium heat but didn’t clamp the ends – key for Blake’s loose vibe. Flipped head upside down, scrunched like mad for volume, then panicked when it looked like tumbleweed. Saved it by raking fingers through knots and spraying more salt mist sideways.

Look 2: Low Slick Bun

This one fought us. Pulled wet hair into severe ponytail – too tight like a face-lift, sister yelped. Undid, dampened hair just at crown, brushed with toothbrush dipped in hair gel (don’t laugh). Got that glassy finish by smoothing sides with kids’ detangler mixed with water in spray bottle. Bun secured with spin pins, ends fraying escaped like usual.

Look 3: Side-Swept Curls

Biggest fail then win. Sectioned front left hair first, curled forward. Right side curled backward wrong direction – ended up with wonky zigzags. Redid all curls facing away from face, then brushed them out ’til frizzy af. Miracle save: sprayed comb with shine serum, dragged through once vertically. Fluffed crown with a fork (no teasing brush).

Look 4: Half-Up Braided Crown

Grabbed only front inch above ears – oversectioned initially, looked like cornrows. Small parallel dutch braids starting near temples. Bobby pins stabbed sideways into the hidden bun, not up. Left wisps everywhere ’cause Blake’s never polished. Surprise hero: edge control gel smeared on thumb to tame baby hairs.

Look 5: Tousled Ponytail

Skipped heat tools for this. Tied mid-height pony, then backcombed ONLY the base crown hair with pencil. Got that bump without bump-its. Teased ends with dry shampoo on hands, pulling sections sideways. Fanned tail and sprayed from underneath only. Smushed hair tie with fabric scrap – ribbon would’ve been too fancy for my practice.

Final thoughts? Her “effortless” waves took 3 tries while the complicated braid was easiest. Budget tip: shine = glycerin water mix, hold = cheap hairspray applied 10 inches away. Sister’s hair now smells like chemicals and sea salt, but we got #2 and #5 photo-worthy after epic fails!
