Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with the Rebelde reboot on Netflix – don’t judge! – and I really wanted to try and recreate some of the iconic Elite Way School looks. Not the full-on uniform, but like, inspired outfits, you know?
First, I spent hours, and I mean hours, scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram. I made a whole mood board filled with screenshots from the show, close-ups of the outfits, and even some similar pieces I found online.
My DIY Process Begins
Then came the fun part: thrifting! I hit up my local thrift stores.
I was looking for things that I can use, like:
- Maroon blazers:I managed to find.
- White button-down shirts. So many shirts, so few that actually fit right!
- Plaid skirts. I got to use.
- Ties and scarves. Any colors, stripes!
- Some boots,It’s good to have some.
I even grabbed a plain white shirt and some fabric markers. I wanted to try and DIY the Elite Way School crest. It was… messy. Let’s just say I’m not an artist.
Next, I started experimenting. I laid out all my finds on my bed and started mixing and matching. I tried different combinations of blazers, shirts, and skirts. It’s all about layering, I quickly realized. The characters on the show always have, like, three layers going on.
I ended up with a few solid outfits.
I’m pretty happy with how it all turned out! It’s not perfect, of course, but it definitely captures the Rebelde vibe. I wore one of the outfits to a casual hangout, and my friends actually recognized the inspiration! Success!
