Okay so I saw Bella Hadid wearing those Michael Kors looks everywhere, figured I could try that vibe too since I dig her style.
First step? Scoured my own closet hardcore. Needed stuff that kinda, sorta matched her MK energy without buying everything new. Pulled out my basics: simple white tee, faded blue jeans (the kind that are comfy, not too ripped), my one kinda fancy looking black blazer, and this cheap H&M scarf that had a hint of leopard print. Got my old black ankle boots ready too – not designer, but looked sharp enough.

Alright, first outfit try was her casual-yet-put-together look. Threw on the white tee, tucked it just into my blue jeans. Buttoned up the black blazer real quick. Then came the tricky part: the scarf. Bella always makes it look effortless. Me? Total fail first few tries. Tried just draping it loosely over my shoulders like she does. Nope, kept sliding off looking messy. Tried looping it around my neck once. Too tight, like I was choking. Finally got it kinda right after watching a quick video – folded it into a thin bandana shape first, then loosely tied it once at the front over the tee collar. Phew. Slipped into the boots. Okay… looked decent in the mirror! Tried to pose like her – hand on hip, serious face. Definitely felt awkward, looked more like a confused meerkat trying to act cool. Kept it simple and snapped a few pics anyway.
Next up, tried copying that slightly dressier vibe she pulled off. Swapped the blue jeans for my one pair of actual black dress pants. They were kinda dusty and needed a major lint rolling – spent like five minutes attacking them. Swapped the tee for this kinda-silk-feeling black top I have (probably polyester, feels fancy though). Reused the blazer – gotta be practical! Figured I could mix it up a bit since she wears accessories well. Dug through my jewelry box:
- Found these big gold hoops – major win.
- Saw a gold chain necklace, pretty thin – threw that on under the top.
- Found one random gold cuff bracelet hiding underneath some old watches – score!
Put it all on together – the gold pieces, the black blazer over the black top, dress pants. Did not expect the difference the jewelry made. Suddenly felt way less basic! Tried to drape the blazer off my shoulders like Bella sometimes does. Yeah… that thing just slid right down instantly. Spent a good minute trying to position it so it’d stay put just enough for a photo. Managed it for like three seconds. Click, click, got a shot! Shoes – stuck with the boots for consistency.
Finished off the photoshoot feeling pretty chuffed with myself. Didn’t nail it exactly obviously, but got way closer than I thought I could using stuff I already owned. Had to play around with that scarf forever and the whole blazer-off-the-shoulders thing was a battle. But seeing the final pics? Made me realise how much simple accessories and sticking to clean shapes matters. Seriously, just owning a good basic blazer is worth it for looks like this. And forcing myself to use that old gold jewelry proved its worth!
