Beach Mansion: Find Your Dream Home (Simple Guide)

by Marvin Connie

Okay, so I wanted to build this “mansion on a beach” thing. I’ve always loved those fancy houses you see in movies, right by the ocean. I figured, why not try and make one myself, even if it’s just, you know, a pretend one?

First, I gathered some materials. I mostly used cardboard boxes – got a big one for the main part of the house and some smaller ones for things like extra rooms and the roof. I also grabbed some scissors, tape, glue, and some paint I had lying around.

Building the Base

I started by cutting the big cardboard box to make the basic shape of the mansion. I wanted it to be two stories, so I cut out a floor from another piece of cardboard and taped it inside. I made sure to leave space for windows and doors, which I carefully cut out with the scissors.

  • Cut the main box to the desired shape.
  • Create a second floor from cardboard.
  • Cut out spaces for windows and doors.

Adding Details

Then came the fun part – adding details! I used the smaller boxes to make things like balconies and a little porch area. I rolled up some paper to make columns for the front entrance, making it look all fancy. I even cut out tiny little cardboard rectangles and glued them around the windows to make them look like shutters.

For the roof used some flat cardboard pieces, I cut and folded into that a classic sloped mansion * taped down to main body.

Painting and Finishing

Once everything was assembled, I started painting. I went with a classic white for the walls and a light blue for the roof, to give it that beachy vibe. I even used a bit of sand I had collected from a previous beach trip and mixed it with the paint for the base, to make it look like it was actually sitting on the sand.

It took me a couple of days, working on it whenever I had some free time. It wasn’t perfect, of course, but I was pretty proud of how it turned out! It’s now sitting on my desk, and every time I look at it, I remember that feeling of actually building something from scratch. It’s pretty cool, even if it’s just a little cardboard mansion on an imaginary beach.
