Man, I’ve been itching to update my look lately, so when I saw Amy’s Hair Creations drop their 2024 trends video yesterday, I got real excited. Grabbed my cheap Walmart knockoff mirror, drugstore styling cream, and my crusty old curling iron that’s missing the heat guard. Figured, how hard could it be?

The Chaotic Setup
First I tried washing my hair with dollar-store shampoo like Amy suggested, but that stuff dried my hair like straw. Had to dig through my messy bathroom drawer for some old conditioner. Got water EVERYWHERE – soaked the counter, splashed my phone, even hit the dang ceiling. Looked like I’d showered with clothes on by the time I finished.
The Trend Attempt Disaster
Attempt 1: That fluffy curtain bang trend looked easy on-screen. Grabbed kitchen scissors and snipped. Ended up with one side comically shorter than the other. Looked like a kid gave me a haircut after finger-painting class. Covered it with a beanie for damage control.
Attempt 2: Tried the twisted low bun thingy with little face-framing pieces. My fine hair laughed at me. All pins slid right out after three steps. Used twelve bobby pins and a chopstick – still collapsed like a soggy pancake. Curse you, slippery hair!
- Bobby pins launching everywhere
- Chopstick poking my scalp
- Sprayed half a can of hold-no-more hairspray
The Tiny Win
Almost gave up till I spotted the textured lob with effortless waves. My curling iron nearly burned my ear off, but after three passes I kinda got rhythm. Flipped my head upside down, scrunched in moose like Amy said, shook it out – actually looked decent! Still wonky in back where I couldn’t see though.
Current Situation
My bathroom’s a crime scene – hair on the sink, sticky spray on the mirror, curling iron cord tangled in the towel rack. Got my left bangs butchered under this hat, but hey, that wavy lob works! Should’ve started with the easiest trend instead of going full salon mode.
