Air Force Purple: Where to Buy & Sneaker Release Updates!

Okay, so I’ve been wanting to customize my Air Force 1s for a while now. I finally decided to go with a purple theme – “Air Force Purple,” I’m calling it. Sounds kinda cool, right?

Getting Started

First, I grabbed a pair of plain white Air Force 1s. Gotta have that blank canvas, you know? Then I started hunting for the right shades of purple. I didn’t want anything too crazy, but something that would still pop.

The Design Process

  • I spent like, an hour just looking at different purples online. Lilac, lavender, violet… so many choices!
  • I finally settled on a deeper, richer purple for the main panels and a lighter, almost pastel purple for the accents.
  • I picked up some Angelus leather paint – everyone says it’s the best for sneakers. And some brushes, of course. Can’t forget those.

Painting Time!

This was the nerve-wracking part. I taped off all the areas I didn’t want to paint with painter’s tape. Took forever, but it’s gotta be precise, or it’ll look messy.

I started with the lighter purple on the smaller sections, like around the swoosh and the heel tab. I did like, three thin coats, letting each one dry completely before the next. Patience is key, my friends.

Then came the darker purple. I carefully painted the larger panels, making sure to get even coverage. Again, multiple thin coats. It took a while, but seeing it come together was so satisfying!

Finishing Touches

Once everything was dry, I removed the tape. There were a couple of tiny spots where the paint bled through, but I fixed those with a tiny brush and some white paint. No biggie.

Finally, I sprayed the whole thing with a matte finisher to protect the paint. Gotta keep them looking fresh, right?

And that’s it! My custom “Air Force Purple” sneakers were done. They look so much better than plain white, and it’s awesome knowing I made them myself. Super stoked with how they turned out!
