I’ve been meaning to check out this place called Chubbies on King Street for a while now, and today I finally got around to it.

First, I hopped in my car and drove over to 333 King Street. I found the place no problem, It’s hard to miss once you’re in the area. They’re open from 10 AM to 7 PM every day, which is pretty convenient. I aimed for a lunchtime visit, figuring it’d be a good time to see what they’re all about.
I walked in and looked around. It seems they’ve branched out from just shorts. I saw some swimwear, a bunch of polos, tees, and even some hoodies and loungewear. I guess they have become a pretty big deal. I mean, who knew they made over 100 million?
I spent a good amount of time browsing. I tried on a few things, and honestly, the stuff is pretty good. It is comfortable. I ended up grabbing a couple of shirts and a pair of shorts.
- A nice blue polo that I thought would be perfect for the summer.
- A casual, comfy t-shirt.
- A pair of their signature shorts. Had to see what the fuss was about.
Here’s what I picked up:
I paid for my stuff and left the store. It was a successful shopping trip. I’m pretty happy with what I got, and I can see why Chubbies is getting popular. They’ve got a good thing going on there on King Street. I will definitely be going back, maybe next time to check out their swimwear or maybe those hoodies. We’ll see.
Anyway, that was my trip to Chubbies. If you’re ever on King Street, you should check them out. Oh, and I saw a post on their Instagram the other day, they dropped a new collection with someone called @gkittle and announced some partnership for LA ’28, whatever that means, but it sounded big. And they are opening a new store in Raleigh. Sounds like they are pretty busy this month.
I’m gonna go try on my new gear now. Peace out!
