Hey folks, so I’ve been messing around with some fragrances lately, specifically the Ralph Lauren Big Pony collection. You know, the ones with the big polo player logo on the bottle? Yeah, those.
So, first off, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole trying to figure out what this whole “Big Pony” thing was about. Turns out, it’s not just about the perfumes. They’ve got this whole clothing line for men, women, even kids, and get this, dogs! I mean, who knew you could dress up your pooch in Ralph Lauren?
Anyway, back to the perfumes. They’ve got four of them in the men’s collection, numbered 1 through 4. I managed to get my hands on all of them because, why not? I figured I might as well try them all out and see what the hype is about. I’m not good at describing the smell in professional words, but I can tell you what I felt when I smelled them.
First, I tried Big Pony #2. Man, this one is fruity! Like, really fruity. But it’s got this other thing going on, too, kinda sensual, I guess? Honestly, out of the four, this one became my favorite. I ended up wearing it out a couple of times, and I gotta say, I felt pretty good wearing it.
- Big Pony #1, on the other hand, is more of a citrusy scent. I mean it smells so fresh. It’s nice, don’t get me wrong, but it didn’t really stand out to me. I know some people like it, it’s just not my cup of tea, or should I say, not my scent of perfume?
- Then there’s Big Pony #4. I can describe the smell, but I can tell you it’s just… there. It’s like, they tried to make something that would appeal to everyone but ended up with something that doesn’t really appeal to anyone, at least not to me. It’s got a hint of orange, maybe some amber, and this weird woody, musky thing going on. It’s not bad, it’s just… meh.
My Final Take
Now, from what I gathered online, these Big Pony fragrances have been discontinued. So, if you’re into them, you might want to grab them while you still can. And from what I read, Ralph Lauren is a pretty big deal in the fashion and fragrance world. I didn’t know that before! They’ve got this whole “luxury lifestyle” thing going on. I checked out some of their other stuff, and yeah, it’s pretty fancy, and expensive, too.
Oh, and I also found out about this other Ralph Lauren fragrance called “Polo” or “green”. Apparently, it was a big hit back in the day, like in the 80s. Some people say it’s still great, even though it’s an oldie, I might give that one a try sometime.
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with the Ralph Lauren Big Pony perfumes. I had fun trying them out, and I definitely found a new favorite in #2. It’s always fun to experiment with different scents and see what works for you. It seems like I’m into perfumes now! I’ll try some other brands next time and share my experience again, stay tuned!
