So yeah, I’ve been tracking Louis Vuitton’s Chinese New Year drops for ages. This time around, walked straight into the boutique downtown last Tuesday morning thinking I’d just browse. Big mistake. That red zodiac embroidery slapped me right in the eyeballs near the entrance. Sales guy Javier clocked me drooling instantly.
The Wallet Situation
First thing Javier shoves at me was this limited edition Zippy wallet. Bright red leather with gold dragon stitching screaming “look at me”. Flipped it open – bam! More crimson inside. Felt like holding a fancy fireworks display. Almost dropped it when he casually mentioned the price.
Hands-on highlights:
- Checked the new Keepall Bandoulière bag – dragon scales pattern actually felt textured under my fingers
- Touched those silk twill scarves with embroidered clouds
- Tried on the red-and-gold Dauphine belt (fit weirdly tight though)
The Bag Debacle
Spotted the Capucines MM near the back. That thing’s a whole mood – blood red body with golden dragon head hardware dangling off the side. Asked Javier to unchain it from the display. Heavy as hell! The scales were cold metal, not plastic like I figured. Got fingerprints all over it while rotating to check the underside.
Meanwhile this lady beside me kept side-eyeing the same bag. Tension level shot up when Javier said they only got two shipments total. Booked it instantly after seeing her reach for her Amex card. Pretty sure I cut her off mid-reach honestly.
Final Move
Walked out clutching that wallet while Javier packed the Capucines for delivery. Felt ridiculous spending mortgage money on accessories but that embroidery man… Staring at the wallet in direct sunlight now? Totally worth it. That gold thread catches rays like tiny flames. Still half-expecting my wife to murder me when it arrives though.
