Feeling better. Tried another reputable free stock site. Focused this time – searched specifically for “Lagos market” and “Lagos beach”. Found:
- A vibrant shot of Balogun market, colours popping.
- A surprisingly serene beach scene near Victoria Island, peaceful vibe.
- No watermarks, clear download buttons. Grabbed both.
Then, thought about the Wikimedia Commons angle. Jumped over there. Searched “Lagos”. Filtered results by “Image” and “Freely reusable”. Boom. Hit the jackpot:
- Historical black & white photos? They had them.
- Modern aerial shots showing Lagos Island? Found them.
- Public infrastructure pictures? Tons.
Lots more digging required, sure, but the quality and uniqueness were incredible. Downloaded several public domain gems showing old Lagos architecture.
