Okay so last weekend I was cleaning out my closet and found these old sunglasses I bought years ago, total Paris Hilton vibes from the early 2000s. You know the tiny oval ones with the sparkly pink arms? Yeah those. Decided I wanted to actually wear them instead of letting them collect dust.

The Struggle Was Real
First problem: how do you even match these things without looking like a Halloween costume? Tried wearing them with my normal jeans and t-shirt, looked absolutely ridiculous. Felt like a confused tourist. Tossed them on my bed like “Well this was a mistake” and almost gave up.
Cracking the Code
Ripped open my underwear drawer – where I keep all my random accessories – and started grabbing stuff. Found a cheap plastic choker necklace from a party years back and layered two silver chains. Threw on my favorite vintage band tee (the one with holes near the collar) and some shiny lip gloss. Still looked off.
Then I remembered Paris always wore trucker hats in photos. Dug out a worn-out black baseball cap and mashed my hair into messy pigtails underneath. Boom! Instantly made the glasses look less stupid. The hat balanced out the tiny lenses somehow.

Final combos that worked:
- Clubbing outfit: Low-rise denim skirt + shimmery baby tee + platform flip flops
- Casual look: Trucker hat + oversized hoodie + leggings
- Secret trick: Pair with metallic lipgloss so the sunglasses don’t overwhelm your face
Epic Fail Turns Win
Went grocery shopping with the casual look. Saw my reflection in the freezer section – actually looked cool! Not costume-y at all. The cashier even said “I remember those glasses!” Lesson learned: you can’t half-ass retro vibes. Gotta commit with clashing textures and cheap accessories to make tiny sunglasses look intentional.

Feels kinda stupid wearing 20-year-old trends but whatever. My sparkly lenses make everything look nostalgic.
