Why Kim was blacklisted by designers? Discover the reasons and prevent it today.

So today I wanted to dig into why this designer Kim got completely ghosted by our whole creative community. It started last Tuesday when three separate designers messaged me saying “dude, don’t work with Kim”. That got me scratching my head.

First thing I did was message Carlos who ran that big fintech project last month. He told me:“Kim showed up 90 minutes late to the client pitch meeting because she ‘lost track of time’ making latte art.” Then Carlos showed me her Slack messages – just thumbs-up emojis when people asked critical workflow questions. Who does that?

Then I checked Kim’s Figma files after Jessica from the branding team complained. Found exactly two versions:

  • “Final_Final” from February
  • “ACTUAL_Final_V3” from last week

No revision history, no comments responding to feedback, nada. Like she just kept deleting everything and starting over.

The real kicker came when I saw how she handled assets. Our photographer sent hi-res product shots last Thursday. Kim screen-recorded the preview thumbnails instead of downloading the files, then complained the mockups looked “pixelated”. I nearly choked on my coffee.

So here’s why Kim’s on every studio’s naughty list now:

  • Treats deadlines like loose suggestions
  • Ghosts collaborators then acts shocked when things go sideways
  • Workflow messier than a toddler’s finger painting
  • Basic tech skills on par with my grandma’s email habits

My takeaway? Set three alarms before client calls, always version files properly, and for god’s sake – don’t make the photographer cry. Already put these rules in my studio handbook today!
