So I got this idea for a white and denim look because honestly? My closet was screaming for something fresh. Saw it on Pinterest last week and thought “hey let’s make this work IRL”. Dug through my wardrobe like a maniac this morning.

First step was gathering pieces. Threw every white top I own on the bed. We’re talking: basic cotton tee, flowy linen button-down, cropped lace cami – even dug out this wrinkled silk tank from vacation two years back. Then attacked the denim section: skinny jeans, mom jeans, denim jacket, frayed denim skirt… you get the picture. Felt like a mad scientist mixing potions.
Experiment #1 started with the safest bet: white tee + blue mom jeans. Boring? Yeah. So I grabbed my oversized denim jacket and rolled up the sleeves. Needed something extra so I slapped on a red leather belt and matching red sandals. Instant pop! Felt like I could run errands and grab coffee looking put-together but not try-hard.
Then I got adventurous. Tried the silk tank with that frayed denim skirt. Looked cute but the skirt kept riding up when I walked around my apartment. Added the denim jacket knotted at my waist – disaster! Felt bulky around my hips like I was hiding pregnancy rumors. Scrapped that combo immediately.
Biggest win? The lace cami with white distressed jeans. Sounds weird but trust me: cream-on-cream tones + raw-edge denim created this cool texture clash. Threw on my chunkier gold hoops and platform sneakers. Looked expensive but super chill. Took like five mirror selfies cause damn!
Few things I noticed:

- Lighter denim washes with bright whites feel summery
- Darker denim needs off-white tops or it looks jarring
- Accessories matter WAY more than I thought – silver jewelry made everything look cold
- Not every shoe works – nude heels good, black boots killed the vibe
Ended up with three solid outfit formulas that actually make sense for my life. Might wear the cami/white jeans combo to girls’ night this weekend. Still kinda pissed that knotted jacket idea flopped though.
