Versace Eros New: Is it Worth Buying Based on Reviews?

by Cornell Yule

So, this versace eros new, right? I kept seeing stuff about it, ads popping up, people chatting. Figured I’d give it a whirl, see if this “new” version was any different from what I remembered of the old one, or if it was just hype.

Getting to the Point of Smelling It

First off, I decided to actually go to a store. None of that online guessing for me, not with smells. I headed out last Saturday, thinking it’d be a quick in-and-out. Wrong. The mall was a zoo, as usual. I navigated through crowds of people who walk like they’ve never seen a straight line before. You know the type.

Anyway, I made it to the big department store. Perfume section. It’s always a bit of a sensory overload in there, isn’t it? I had to find the Versace counter, which, of course, was tucked away in a corner, behind a fortress of other brands all screaming for attention.

There was this one sales assistant, looked like she’d rather be anywhere else. I waited my turn, trying not to look too eager or too clueless. She was busy with someone else, going on and on about notes of this and undertones of that. I just wanted to smell the thing, man.

The Actual “Practice” Part

Finally, she acknowledged my existence. I asked specifically for “the new Eros.” She grabbed the bottle. Okay, here’s my process, pretty straightforward, nothing fancy:

  • I got her to spray it on one of those paper strips first. Standard procedure. I gave it a good sniff.
  • Then, because paper ain’t skin, I asked if I could try a tiny bit on my wrist. She nodded, probably relieved I didn’t ask for a dissertation on its “olfactory pyramid.”
  • I sprayed just a little. You don’t want to go overboard, especially when you’re just testing.
  • Then, I walked away. You gotta let these things breathe, see how they settle down, right? I wandered around the shoe department for about twenty minutes, pretending to be interested in loafers.

After my little walkabout, I sniffed my wrist again. It had definitely changed a bit from the first blast. That’s always the interesting part, seeing how it develops on you. It’s not just about the first impression. It’s about how it lives with you for a bit.

So, What’s the Verdict?

Honestly, it smelled… like a fragrance. A nice one, yeah. Was it earth-shatteringly new? To my nose, not massively. It felt familiar, like they tweaked a few things here and there from what I recall. But “new” can mean a lot of things, I guess. New bottle, new campaign, slightly different mix. It’s decent, don’t get me wrong. I spent a good while just thinking about it, standing there near the exit, trying to decide if it was “me.”

In the end, I didn’t buy it that day. I needed more time to think. Going through that whole mall palaver again to return it if I changed my mind? Nah. Sometimes the journey to trying something new is more memorable than the “new” thing itself. That’s just how it goes, I suppose. I left the store, mission sort-of-accomplished. I experienced the “versace eros new.” Now I know.
