My Little Adventure with This New Scent
So, I’d been hearing whispers about a new Coach fragrance, the “Love” one for 2023. You know how it is, you see a few things online, maybe a magazine snippet, and curiosity just starts to build. I wasn’t desperately hunting for a new perfume, but my trusty old bottle was getting low, and I thought, why not give something new a go? Especially with the seasons changing, I felt like trying out a fresh vibe.

I decided to pop into the mall last weekend. My main mission was something else entirely, I think I needed new socks, but the perfume section always calls to me. I found the Coach counter pretty easily. They had a nice display, nothing too over the top, which I appreciate. The bottle itself caught my eye – pretty straightforward, classic Coach style, but with a little heart charm that was a nice touch. Felt solid in my hand, not flimsy.
First Impressions and The All-Important Spritz
The sales assistant was helpful, not too pushy, which is always a bonus. I asked to try the “Love” one. She spritzed it onto one of those little paper strips first. My first thought? Okay, this is quite fruity. Not in a childish way, more like a bright, happy kind of fruitiness. I think I picked up something like wild strawberry, a bit sweet but also a little tart, which was interesting.
Paper strips are one thing, but skin is where the real test happens, right? So, I asked her to spray a little on my wrist. Boom! That initial fruitiness was definitely there, very upfront. But then, almost immediately, I started to get a softer, more floral note peeking through. Nothing too heavy, not like those old-school powdery florals. This felt more modern, maybe a hint of rose but mixed with something a bit greener? It was hard to place exactly at first.
Living With It for a Day
I thanked the assistant and decided to wander around the mall for a bit, let the scent settle and see how it developed. That’s my usual trick – never buy a perfume on the spot. You gotta let it live with you for a few hours.
As I was browsing in other shops, I kept sniffing my wrist. About an hour in, that strong fruity blast had calmed down quite a lot. It was still there, but it had mingled nicely with the floral heart. It became a much warmer, softer scent. I felt it was pretty pleasant, actually. It wasn’t one of those “statement” perfumes that announces your arrival from a mile away. This was more subtle, closer to the skin. My husband, who usually doesn’t comment much on my perfumes unless he really dislikes them, said it smelled “nice and fresh” when I got home, which is high praise from him!

In terms of how long it lasted, I’d say it was pretty average. I could still smell it faintly by the evening, maybe around 5-6 hours after applying, but it was definitely a soft whisper by then. It didn’t completely disappear, which is good. I reckon for a daytime scent, that’s perfectly fine. You could always reapply if you were going out in the evening.
- Initial blast: Very fruity, quite bright.
- After an hour: Softened into a fruity-floral, much gentler.
- Longevity: Decent for a day scent, around 5-6 hours for me.
- Sillage (how much it projects): Moderate to soft, not overpowering.
So, What’s My Final Take?
Well, I actually went back the next day and bought a small bottle. I figured it’s a really easy-to-wear, everyday kind of fragrance. It’s not going to set the world on fire with its complexity, but it’s cheerful, pleasant, and feminine without being too girly. I think it’s a good choice if you’re looking for something for the office, or just for casual weekends when you want to smell nice without thinking too much about it.
Would I recommend it? Yes, I think so, especially if you like fruity-floral scents that aren’t too heavy. It’s a safe bet for a gift too, I reckon, as it’s pretty likeable. It’s not a groundbreaking, unique masterpiece, but it’s a solid, lovely perfume that I’m happy to have in my little collection. It just makes me feel a bit uplifted when I wear it, and sometimes, that’s all you need from a fragrance, isn’t it?
