My Journey with Fekkai Glossing Cream
Okay, so I’d been noticing my hair looking kinda dull lately. You know, just not shiny, a bit frizzy around the edges, especially when the weather gets humid. I was browsing around, looking for something simple, not too heavy, that could maybe give it a little life back. Saw the Fekkai Glossing Cream mentioned somewhere and thought, why not give it a shot? The name sounded promising – ‘glossing’ is exactly what I felt I needed.

When I got the tube, it felt pretty standard, nothing too fancy, which I kind of appreciate. No fuss. The real test is what’s inside, right?
First Try and How I Use It
So, the first time, I washed my hair like usual. Towel-dried it until it was just damp, not soaking wet. I squeezed out a small amount of the cream – maybe about the size of a pea, maybe a tiny bit more. They always say start small, and my hair isn’t super thick, so I figured that was smart. The cream itself felt really light, not sticky or greasy, which was a good sign. Smelled nice too, clean and not overpowering.
I rubbed it between my palms first, then just kinda ran my hands through the mid-lengths and ends of my hair. I made sure to avoid the roots because my scalp can get oily easily, and I definitely didn’t want to weigh down the top. I just focused on the parts that tend to look dry or catch the light less.
Then I just let my hair air dry. Sometimes I blow dry, but I wanted to see what the cream did on its own first.
What I Found Out
Right away, as my hair dried, I could tell a bit of a difference. It definitely felt softer. The ends didn’t look quite as frazzled. Was it super glossy like glass? Maybe not that intense right off the bat, but there was a noticeable improvement in shine. It looked healthier, less dull.

I’ve been using it pretty regularly now, maybe every other wash day. Here’s what I’ve noticed over time:
- Consistency is key: It seems to work better with regular use. My hair generally looks smoother now.
- Frizz control: It does help tame some of the minor flyaways and frizz, especially on damp days. It’s not like a super-hold gel, but it smooths things down nicely.
- Doesn’t weigh hair down: This was important for me. Even using it regularly, my hair doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, as long as I stick to using just a small amount on the ends and mid-lengths.
- On dry hair: I tried using a tiny bit on dry hair just to smooth things down between washes. It works okay for that too, but you have to use even less, like barely touch the tube, otherwise it can look a bit piecey. I prefer using it on damp hair mostly.
So, overall, it’s become a pretty reliable part of my routine. It’s not some miracle cure that completely transformed my hair overnight into something it’s not. But it does what it says on the tin, more or less. It adds a bit of shine, makes my hair feel softer, and helps manage the everyday frizz without any heavy feeling. For a simple, straightforward glossing cream, I’d say it does the job pretty well. It’s easy to use, smells pleasant, and gives that little boost I was looking for. Thumbs up from me for a daily helper.
