Trying Out That Black Glossy Lip Look
Okay, so today I finally decided to actually try the black glossy lipstick thing. Been seeing it around and thought, why not? Got some time, got the stuff, let’s see how it goes.

First thing, lips gotta be prepped. Dug out my lip scrub – you know, the sugary kind. Made a bit of a mess, like always, scrubbing away any dry bits. Wiped that off. Felt smoother already. Then slapped on some lip balm and let it sit for a few minutes. Gotta have a smooth canvas, right?
Next up, the main event: the black lipstick. Mine’s pretty creamy. I just went straight in with the bullet. Probably should’ve used a liner for a cleaner edge, but hey, living dangerously. It took a couple of swipes to get it really opaque, like, really black. Stood back, looked in the mirror. Okay, yeah, that’s definitely black alright. Looked kinda cool, very matte at this stage.
But I was going for glossy, so grabbed my clear lip gloss. Nothing fancy, just a standard clear one. Loaded up the wand – didn’t want to be stingy with it. Carefully dabbed it mostly in the center of my lips, top and bottom, then sort of spread it outwards. Tried my best not to smear the black lipstick underneath everywhere. That took a bit of focus.
The Glossy Finish
And bam! The gloss totally transformed it. It went from flat black to this super shiny, almost wet look. Like patent leather, maybe? It catches the light like crazy. Super dramatic effect.
Gotta say though, it feels… glossy. You know, kinda sticky. My hair will definitely get caught in this later if I go outside. That’s just the price you pay for the shine, I guess. Walked around my room a bit, checking it out in different lighting. It feels pretty bold. Not exactly an everyday look for me, maybe more for a specific vibe or a night out.

It’s kinda funny how makeup can change how you feel. Putting this on, I felt a bit more edgy, a bit more “look at me”. It was fun to just play around. Way different from my usual boring lip balm or whatever. Sometimes you just need to switch things up, even if it’s just trying a wild lipstick color in your own house. Will I rock this look often? Probably not to run errands. But for the fun of it? Yeah, definitely keeping this combo in mind.
