My Trip to See that Twisty Building
Alright, let me tell you about the time I went to check out that twisty building everyone talks about in Dubai. I’d seen pictures, sure, but you know me, I like to see things for myself, get the real feel of a place.
So, one afternoon, I found myself with some free time and decided, “Okay, let’s go find this thing.” I headed down towards the Dubai Marina area. It’s packed with skyscrapers, like a concrete jungle, but even among all those tall buildings, this one stands out.
You spot it from a distance first. It doesn’t look real, almost like a visual trick. They call it Cayan Tower now, though I heard it used to be called Infinity Tower, which kind of makes sense too, the way it spirals up.
Getting closer, you really appreciate the design. Here’s what I did:
- Walked around the base, trying to get different angles.
- Just stood there, craning my neck, looking all the way up. It’s tall, apparently over 70 stories.
- Tried to figure out how the windows and balconies work on the curve.
It’s impressive, honestly. The whole building twists a full 90 degrees from the ground floor to the top. It’s smooth, like someone just grabbed the top and gently wrung it out like a towel.
It’s right there in the Marina, surrounded by water and other towers, but the twist makes it unique. It’s not just some weird shape for the sake of it; it looks quite elegant, in a strange way. Found out it’s actually apartments inside, imagine living in a place that twists like that! Must have some interesting views.
Seeing it wasn’t some grand event, just me walking around, looking up, taking it all in. But it stuck with me. It’s one of those things you see in Dubai that makes you think about what’s possible with building stuff these days.
Definitely a cool thing to see if you’re ever wandering around the Dubai Marina. Makes all the regular straight buildings seem a bit plain afterwards.
