What is living in a new york apartment 20 million really like? Discover the exclusive NYC lifestyle perks.

Alright, let’s talk about this whole New York City apartment thing. You see these numbers thrown around, right? Like 20 million dollars. For a place to live. It just kinda blows my mind every time I hear it.

I remember when I first moved here. Man, finding a place was a nightmare. Scouring listings day and night, running around the city like a headless chicken. Every decent spot had like fifty people applying. You had to have your checkbook ready, basically sign your life away on the spot. Found a tiny studio finally, cost an arm and a leg, but hey, it was mine. Well, mine to rent anyway.

My Own Grind

My daily grind was just about making rent, getting groceries, maybe having a beer on Friday. You work hard, you try to save a little, you hope the landlord doesn’t hike the rent too much next year. That’s the reality for most of us here, I think.

Then you walk down certain streets, maybe Central Park South or somewhere in Tribeca, and you see these buildings. Super tall, super fancy. Glass everywhere. Doormen in suits who look like they wouldn’t even let you breathe the same air.

Thinking About That Number

And you hear about the apartments inside. Penthouse this, duplex that. Private elevators, swimming pools inside the apartment. And the price tags… 10 million, 15 million, yeah, even 20 million and way, way up. It’s like a different planet.

What do you even do with an apartment that costs 20 million dollars? Seriously.

  • Do you use all the rooms?
  • Are you ever even there? Heard some are just empty most of the time.
  • Does it feel like home, or just like a big fancy hotel suite?

It’s just hard to wrap my head around. I’m thinking about fixing the leaky faucet in my kitchen, hoping my Con Ed bill isn’t too crazy this month. And somewhere, someone is deciding which slab of imported marble they want for their fifth bathroom.

Two Cities in One

It really highlights the crazy contrast in this city. You got unimaginable wealth right next door to people just trying to get by. Sometimes literally on the same block. You step out of a subway station, maybe grabbing a dollar slice, and right there is a building where one apartment costs more than you’ll make in ten lifetimes.

Don’t get me wrong, I love New York. The energy, the hustle, the feeling that anything could happen. But seeing that stuff, those 20 million dollar price tags, it definitely makes you stop and think. Makes you realize just how many different worlds exist inside this one city. It’s wild. You just gotta keep your head down and keep grinding, I guess. That’s what most of us do.
