My Trip Around the Palisades Area
So, I found myself over on the westside of L.A. the other day, specifically around Pacific Palisades. Heard some talk, you know, about how Michelle Pfeiffer and her husband David E. Kelley got a new place there. Something about downsizing now that their kids are older. Called it their ‘forever home’ or something like that.
Getting Curious
It got me curious, I guess. Not in a creepy way, mind you. Just, when you hear ‘downsizing’ and ‘forever home’ from people like that, it makes you wonder what that actually looks like. Is it still huge? Is it tucked away?
The Drive-By
So, I decided to just drive around the area a bit. Didn’t have an exact address or anything, wouldn’t want one really. Just cruised the streets. Pacific Palisades is nice, quiet. Lots of trees, big hedges, gates. You can tell people value their privacy there. Makes sense.
- Drove up one street.
- Drove down another.
- Looked at a few places that seemed like they could be it, but honestly, who knows?
You don’t really see much from the road for most of these properties. That’s kinda the point, right? It wasn’t like I expected to see them out gardening. It was more about getting a feel for the neighborhood they chose for this ‘forever home’ stage.
Thinking About It
It felt different from other flashy L.A. spots. More settled. Maybe that’s what they were going for. After years of big careers and probably massive houses, maybe settling into a (probably still very nice) smaller place in a quiet neighborhood is the goal. Made me think about my own setup, though obviously on a totally different scale! It’s just interesting how people’s priorities shift.
So yeah, that was my little adventure. Didn’t find the specific house, didn’t really expect to. Just drove around, looked at the scenery, and thought about the whole ‘downsizing’ thing for folks who seem to have it all. It was a pretty chill afternoon, actually.
