My Little Observation Project
Okay, so I started noticing something a while back, just flipping through magazines or scrolling online. You see these celebrities, all dressed up, and sometimes, there they are – wearing pantyhose. It wasn’t something I was actively looking for, you know?

It just sort of caught my eye one day. I think it was during some big awards show coverage. Saw a picture, and thought, “Huh, okay.” Didn’t think much of it initially. But then, I saw it again. Different person, different event, same kind of legwear. It made me a bit curious, like wondering if it was becoming a ‘thing’ again, or if I was just noticing it more.
So, I started paying a bit more attention when I saw photos from red carpets or events. It wasn’t like a formal research project, more like a mental checklist. Sometimes they were sheer, sometimes patterned, sometimes opaque black. It seemed to depend a lot on the overall outfit and maybe the person’s style.
What I Started Seeing
- Sheer hose with formal dresses.
- Black opaque tights, especially in cooler weather looks.
- Sometimes patterned or fishnet styles for a bolder statement.
It got me thinking about fashion cycles. Styles come and go, right? Things that seemed dated suddenly pop up again. I remember pantyhose being pretty standard for certain occasions years ago, then they sort of faded out for a while, at least in the really mainstream, high-fashion circles I was casually observing.
Just Casual Noting, Really
I didn’t make spreadsheets or anything intense. It was more like, “Oh, there’s another example.” I’d just mentally file it away. It became a little game almost, spotting the hosiery.

Found it interesting how different people styled them. Some made it look very classic, almost vintage. Others managed to make it feel quite modern, pairing them with unexpected shoes or edgier outfits. It showed how the same basic accessory could be interpreted in various ways.
Honestly, it wasn’t some deep dive. Just a simple observation that grew from seeing one picture, then another. Made me realize how much detail goes into those celebrity looks, even down to the legwear. It’s just one small piece of the whole fashion puzzle I suppose. And that was pretty much my process – just noticing, getting a little curious, and keeping my eyes open. Nothing more complicated than that.
