Visiting Dior NY 57th: What You Need To Know

by Marvin Connie

Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post reflecting my experience with Dior on 57th.

Visiting Dior NY 57th: What You Need To Know

Alright, so I finally made it to the Dior store on 57th in NYC. Been wanting to go for ages, and let me tell you, it’s an experience. Not just shopping, like, a whole thing.

First off, walking in, it’s all marble and shiny stuff. You know, the usual fancy store vibe. But it smells amazing. I swear, they pump something into the air. Probably costs more than my rent.

I was mostly interested in checking out their fragrance section. I’ve heard people yap about their fragrances forever. I’m not a huge makeup person, more into the scents. So, straight to the back I went. I wanted to check out the hyped up stuff!

The lady at the fragrance counter was super nice, didn’t give me that ‘you-can’t-afford-this’ look some places do. She started spritzing stuff on those little paper strips. Miss Dior, J’adore, Sauvage…all the big names. Honestly, they all smelled pretty good, but nothing was really knocking my socks off yet.

Then she pulls out this bottle, La Collection Privée. Different level of fancy packaging, you know? She explained that it was their exclusive line, blah blah blah. Spritzed it on my wrist, and BAM! Sandalwood, vanilla, something a bit spicy. I was like, “Okay, now we’re talking.”

I walked around the store for like an hour with that scent on, just seeing how it developed. Smelled it every 5 minutes like a total weirdo. It definitely changed, got a bit softer, but still had that warmth.

I browsed around some more. Checked out the clothes – gorgeous, but seriously out of my budget. I mean, a simple t-shirt was like, whoa. Maybe someday when I win the lottery.

Finally, I went back to the fragrance counter. The lady remembered me, which was nice. I was still loving the scent on my wrist. So, I asked about the price. Deep breath. It was… a lot. Like, a whole month’s rent a lot!

I hemmed and hawed for a good 15 minutes. Walked around the store again. Thought about my bank account. Thought about how much I liked the smell.

In the end, I bit the bullet. YOLO, right? I figured I deserved a little treat. Plus, I can always eat ramen for a month. Haha!

They wrapped it up all fancy, put it in this nice bag. I felt like a real grown-up walking out of there.

Got home, put it on again. Still love it. Now I just have to figure out how to make it last forever. Maybe I’ll only wear it on special occasions. Or maybe I’ll wear it every day, who cares! I earned it!

So, yeah, Dior on 57th. Definitely worth checking out, even if you don’t buy anything. Just soak in the atmosphere and smell the expensive air. You might just find your new favorite scent, even if it means eating ramen for a while!
