Okay, so, check it out. I recently stayed at Hotel Lacroix in Paris, and let me tell you, it was an experience. I figured I’d jot down my thoughts, kinda like a travel diary, for anyone thinking of booking a room there.

First off, the location. Seriously prime real estate. Slap-bang in the middle of everything. I hopped off the Eurostar, dragged my suitcase about ten minutes, and boom, there it was. Couldn’t be easier. That’s a huge plus when you’re jet-lagged and just want to dump your stuff.
The check-in process was smooth enough. The guy at the front desk was alright, spoke decent English, and got me sorted quickly. No complaints there. He pointed me towards the elevator – a tiny little thing, felt like stepping into a phone booth – and I headed up to my room.
Now, the room itself… it was small. Parisian small, I guess. I knew that going in, so it wasn’t a total shock. But still, you ain’t exactly gonna be doing cartwheels in there. The bed was comfy enough, though. That’s the main thing, right? Clean sheets, decent pillows. I managed to get a good night’s sleep every night, which is a win in my book.
The bathroom was also tiny, but functional. Shower was decent, good water pressure. They provided little bottles of shampoo and stuff, the usual. Nothing fancy, but it did the job. One thing, though: the towels were a bit on the thin side. Just saying.
Let’s talk about the view. I lucked out and got a room with a little balcony overlooking a side street. Nothing spectacular, but it was nice to open the doors and get some fresh air, watch the world go by. I sat out there with a coffee every morning, feeling all Parisian and whatnot.

Breakfast was included, which was a bonus. It was a basic buffet setup: croissants, bread, cheese, ham, yogurt, fruit. Nothing amazing, but it filled you up for the morning. The coffee was pretty good, actually. Strong and hot, just how I like it.
- Pros: Great location, comfy bed, decent breakfast, helpful staff.
- Cons: Small rooms, thin towels, tiny elevator.
Overall, I’d say Hotel Lacroix is a solid choice if you’re looking for a well-located, reasonably priced hotel in Paris. It’s not luxury, by any means, but it’s clean, comfortable, and convenient. I’d happily stay there again.
Would I recommend it? Yeah, probably. Just be prepared for the size of the rooms. Seriously, pack light!
Oh, one last thing. There’s a boulangerie just around the corner that sells the most amazing pain au chocolat. Seriously, don’t miss it. You’ll thank me later.
