Alright, so I decided to get my ears pierced again. Not just one, but two new holes on each lobe, and yeah, I figured why not do both ears in the same sitting? Go big or go home, right? Had been thinking about it for a while, just wanted a little something extra.

Finding the Right Spot
First thing was finding a place. Didn’t want to just walk into any old shop. Asked around a bit, checked out some local studios known for being clean and professional. You hear stories, you know? So, I was pretty careful. Found one that looked good, felt right. Clean, good vibe, the piercer seemed to know their stuff. Booked an appointment.
Getting it Done
Showed up for my appointment, maybe a little bit nervous, but mostly just ready to get it over with. Sat down in the chair. The piercer was cool, talked me through everything again.
Here’s how it went down:
- Marking: First, they cleaned up my earlobes really well. Then came the marking pen. We looked in the mirror together, adjusted the dots until I was happy with the placement for the two new holes on each side. Getting that spacing right was important to me.
- The First Ear: Deep breath time. They got the needle ready (definitely preferred needle over a gun). Quick pinch, honestly. Felt a sharp pressure, then it was through. The jewelry went in right away. First hole done. Then, bam, second hole on the same lobe, same quick process. It was surprisingly fast.
- The Second Ear: Switched sides. Same deal. Cleaned again, checked the marks one last time. Pinch, pressure, jewelry in. Pinch, pressure, jewelry in again. Doing the second ear right after the first was intense, but kinda good to just power through it.
And just like that, it was over. Both ears, four new piercings. Maybe took 15 minutes total for the actual piercing part? Crazy quick.
Right After
My ears felt warm, kinda throbbing a little, but nothing too bad. Looked in the mirror. Yeah, liked how it looked immediately. The simple studs they used were fine. Felt a bit of accomplishment, you know? Silly maybe, but true.

Taking Care of Them
Got the whole aftercare speech. The piercer was clear:
- Clean them twice a day. Saline solution, that’s it. No twisting the jewelry.
- Keep hands off unless cleaning. Seriously, don’t fiddle with them.
- Be careful with hair, clothes, sleeping. Trying not to sleep directly on them was the trickiest part, especially with both sides done.
So far, so good. Been following the rules, keeping them clean. They feel okay, a little tender still, but that’s normal. Definitely happy I went for it and did all four at once. Rip the band-aid off, you know? Now just gotta be patient while they heal up.
